We are very grateful to the following funders who have recently awarded grants to support our research:
Cancer Research UK have renewed their support for our ongoing project targeting Rab27, a protein which can rewire the immune system to enhance tumour metastasis. By targeting this protein, we hope to be able to reduce the incidence of metastatic breast cancer, and other cancers. Led by Ed with collaborators Ernesto Cota in Life Sciences and Jim Norman at the Beatson Institute, this grant brings our funding on this project to more than £700k over 5 years.
BBSRC have awarded a £1.1 million grant to help us understand GPCR signalling in the endocytic network, including fundamental mechanisms and therapeutic applications. This project is led by Aylin Hanyaloglu (Faculty of Medicine) in collaboration with our group and researchers at the University of Warwick.
In collaboration with Andy Edwards (Faculty of Medicine) we have been awarded a "Confidence in Concept" award of £66k, funded by MRC and the Wellcome Trust, to pump prime our work towards targeting antimicrobial resistance by enhancing the immune system's response to pathogenic bacteria.
