Professor Peter Bearman was presented with a sword in recognition of his service to the Royal Aeronautical Society at a ceremony last week.
Usually given every other year in recognition of "outstanding service to the Royal Aeronautical Society by a member of the Society", Professor Bearman was presented with The Robert Hardingham Presidential Sword for 2018-19 during a ceremony on 4 December 2018.
Professor Bearman was Editor-in-Chief of the Society's Aeronautical Journal for 11 years before stepping down in May, and introduced several innovations during his tenure.
