New academic awarded Visiting Professorship
Dr Bhandari recently joined the Communications and Signal Processing group and has been awarded a Visiting Professorship at the TU Munich.
As part of the August-Wilhelm Scheer Professorship at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Dr Bhandari will join the Department of Mathematics.
Professor August-Wilhelm Scheer was a renowned pioneer in the field of Computer Science and this Visiting Professorship was set up for scientists to engage in an intensive collaboration with researchers at TUM. Within the framework of TUM’s strategy the August-Wilhelm Scheer Program intends to facilitate innovative approaches in cutting-edge research fields and fostering complementary research-orientated teaching.
Dr Bhandari receives this fellowship in recognition of his work which involves co-design of hardware and mathematical algorithms so that popularly held limits in data capture and imaging can be broken. Some examples of this approach include time-resolved imaging, low-cost bio-imaging and the unlimited sensing framework.
Dr Bhandari says ‘I am particularly delighted because I never expected this recognition at an early-career stage!’
We wish Dr Bhandari the best of luck with the fellowship and his career within the Department
