The 2019 FoNS Research Showcase
The annual FoNS Research Showcase on the 25 September provided a wonderful opportunity for audience members to engage in diverse and current research.
Faculty members and guests came together for a series of twenty stimulating discussions and talks by FoNS staff, fellows and prize-winning postgraduate students from each of our five departments. You can view the programme and find out more about the talks here. A lively poster session over lunch also celebrated innovative work from thirty current FoNS PhD students.
The Plastic Challenge: Sustainable Interventions for a Healthy Planet
Dr Arturo Castillo Castillo from the Centre for Environmental Policy led an expert panel and interactive audience discussion after the departmental talks. On the panel he was joined by Professor Alexander Potter (Materials), Dr Charles Romain (Chemistry) and Giulia Bernardini (Life Sciences), emphasising and exploring how multidisciplinary research hopes to tackle today’s urgent environmental challenges.
