Imperial has renewed its partnership with Times Newspapers Ltd for a second year, giving students and staff a free digital subscription.

**Please note, the free subscription offer has now ended (2020)**

As part of the new offer, all students and staff can get a free 12 month subscription, providing digital access to The Times and the Sunday Times. Imperial students will also be able to win the chance to write for The Times newspaper as part of an exclusive competition.

This year staff and students will also get a free subscription to The TLS providing them access to a leading international weekly magazine covering everything from modern poetry to physics.

Last year, Imperial Biomedical Sciences student Joanna Wormald landed a three-month stint as a guest-writer for the Red Box blog with a submission proposing a new law requiring cabinet ministers to receive training on the relevant portfolio before taking office.

Times Newspapers will also be supporting the Great Exhibition Road Festival 2020 through a dedicated event and related publicity.

OPPORTUNITY FOR BUDDING JOURNALISTS

Luke Blair, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at Imperial, said: “Last year’s partnership with The Times was a really positive experience for our students and staff and there was a clear demand for it to continue.

“Continuing our partnership with the Times will help the Imperial community to decipher and debate issues of the day through access to well informed journalism as well helping bring the Great Exhibition Road Festival to a wider audience.

“It’s also a great opportunity for the budding journalists amongst our students to prove their writing skills on a national newspaper.”

Emma Tucker has been Deputy Editor of The Times newspaper since October 2013

Emma Tucker, Deputy Editor of The Times said: “We are delighted to be renewing our partnership with Imperial College London.

“We are committed to promoting our shared belief in the importance of young people having access to quality journalism, trailblazing content, and prestigious events."
