In collaboration with student researchers, a new project led by the Horizons Change Makers team is seeking answers to questions like this.

What words, topics or phrases are Imperial students drawn to? What topics and learning activities excite them and help them guide their module selections during the course of a degree? Do particular words elicit an emotional, intellectual or strategic response?

Learning Lexicon, a StudentShapers project lead by Daisy Pataki, (Teaching Fellow, Imperial Horizons Change Makers), will develop an interactive online questionnaire to collect student views and responses to different types of learning words and phrases.

Three student partners are currently being recruited to work alongside staff on the project. Each student will receive a project bursary. Applications are open until Monday 25th November 2019.

The student-staff partners will plan and execute a series of data-gathering activities on campus, analyse and synthesize the results. The results will be shared at a final research seminar in the summer term.

Learning Lexicon is being run in conjunction with three other Change Makers research projects as part of the CLCC's Humanities@70 celebration.
