JSPS Summer Programme Fellowship 2024

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is the leading research funding agency in Japan.

Programme Outline:

The JSPS Summer Programme Fellowship offers the opportunity for pre/postdoctoral researchers to receive an orientation on Japanese language and culture and research systems as well as pursue research under the guidance of host researchers at Japanese universities and research institutes over a period of two months during the summer. The orientation will take place at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI).

Eligibility:

Applicants should be a British national and at the time the Summer Programme goes into effect either be enrolled in a PhD or MPhil course at a UK university or have obtained their PhD within the last 6 years (on or after 2 April 2018). Candidates of more than one nationality may not apply through more than one nominating authority.

All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural and physical sciences are included under this programme.

Programme Duration: 2 month fixed period from 17 June through to 27 August 2024

Closing Date for Applications: Monday 20 November 2023 at 23:59 UK time.

  5. Copy of PhD enrolment document from a UK university or copy of PhD certificate. This must include expected start and finish time (month and year) of PhD.
  6. Copy of Photo Page of Passport
  7. Proof of Maternity Leave and or/Parental Leave if applicable
