The CPE community gathered at the end of another successful year for an afternoon of science and an evening of celebration.
One of the CPE's newest members, Dr Nicola Gasparini, opened the afternoon symposium on 13 December with his talk Controlling charge recombination in ternary organic solar cells: a pathway towards high efficiency and stable device and was followed by CPE board member Prof Aron Walsh who talked to the packed lecture theatre about Materials challenges for halide perovskite semiconductors.
After a short intermission, Dr Martyn McLachlan skillfully combined a series of Christmas cracker jokes with some serious science in his talk Dear Santa – all I want for Christmas is perovskite stability…and if you have space on your sleigh, some decent efficiencies and maybe an alternative to lead. The final talk was given by Dr Anne Guilbert Mapping the structural dynamics of organic semiconductors.
After the symposium, CPE members celebrated the end of another successful year gathering at Da Mario's restaurant for pizza and disco.
