Atension! Venice exhibition and talk come to Imperial
Atension!, an exhibition of posters and photographs of Venice, is on display at CLCC ahead of a lecture on the island-city by Jane Da Mosto.
Collated by the Italian activist art group Barena Bianca, Atension! highlights the challenges facing Venice in the age of global warming. The exhibition is on display in the CLCC Foyer Gallery, Floor 3, Sherfield Building (South Kensington Campus). Photographs, taken across the city of Venice are displayed on large panels.
The exhibition is being staged as part of the Humanities@70 celebrations at Imperial College, marking seventy years of arts and humanities teaching at the College.
The Atension! exhibition runs until 13 March 2020.
The Art and Science of Saving Venice - Jane da Mosto
A special talk from environmental scientist Jane da Mosto on Tuesday 10 March at Imperial College will address the unique environmental challenges faced by the island-city.
Jane is an environmental scientist (MA, Oxford University, MPhil, Imperial College London) with international experience as a consultant on sustainable development, climate change and wetland ecology. Her work has helped advance scientific knowledge about the nature and causes of the threat to Venice and about proposed solutions.
