Dr Zahra Sharif Khodaei has been accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
The Fellowship (FRAeS) is the highest grade of its membership, which recognises outstanding contributions in the profession of aeronautics.
The news comes after her promotion to the role of Reader in Structural Integrity last year.
Dr Sharif Khodaei’s research focuses on structural integrity and health monitoring, with a focus on composite structures. She is also the Department’s Tutor for Women.
In response to the award, Zahra says “This is a real milestone in my career. I originally applied to become a member of the Society, so it’s great to qualify as a Fellow and to see my achievements recognised in this way!”
