President's Awards Winners in the Department of Mechanical Engineering
Academics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering have been recognised at the recently announced President's Awards for Excellence.
Dr Huizhi Wang (from the Electrochemical Science and Engineering research group) received a President’s Award for Outstanding Early Career Researcher. This award aims to celebrate the academic excellence and development of Imperial's early stage researchers.
Dr Huizhi Wang said: “It is an honor to receive this award. I would like to thank everyone I have worked with, my colleagues, my collaborators, and my students. Receiving this award would not have been possible without their contributions and help. I am also thankful to our Department for providing such a supportive and inclusive work environment, from which I have benefited a lot".
The President’s Award for Outstanding Research Team was conferred on the Mechatronics in Medicine Laboratory, led by Professor Ferdinando Rodriguez Y Baena.
Professor Rodriguez y Baena also received the President's Award for Excellence in Leadership, one of the awards for Excellence in Culture and Community. This award underlines the importance of good leadership and management at all levels.
All the awards were announced in a virtual celebration event on 16 June.
