Nigel Brandon at the World Future Energy Summit
The World Future Energy Summit (WFES), part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2016, took place this week
The summit is dedicated to advancing future energy, energy efficiency and clean technology.
Professor Nigel Brandon OBE, Director of the Sustainable Gas Institute was invited to attend the Summit.
Nigel was interviewed yesterday by Share Radio’s Michael Considine.
On the Opening Day, Nigel took part in a panel session entitled ‘Mission Innovation: Breakthrough Technologies to Watch’.
Mission Innovation is was one of the key initiatives announced at COP 21, with 20 countries pledging to double their research and development investment in clean energy.
“These are innovative clean technologies that we might want to develop to deliver our energy not only cost effectively, but also with minimum effect on the environment with a particular focus on lowering carbon.
The panel discussed the challenges faced and how to bring foward these new ideas from the laboratory to scale so they can be cost effectively deployed over the next twenty years.”
