TSM Alumni awarded prizes for his research
TSM Alumni Cristian Ricardo Constante Amores has been awarded a number of prizes for his PhD work.
16th ERCOFTAC Da Vinci Prize
The annual da Vinci competition is held by the European Research Community On Flow, Turbulence and Combustion (ERCOFTAC). It is a forum for young, gifted researchers from across Europe to present their work and, each year the competition awards a prize in recognition of an excellent PhD thesis in theoretical and applied fluid dynamics and outstanding scientific contributions with engineering relevance.
The medal presented at the 16th ERCOFTAC da Vinci competition was awarded to Cristian Ricardo Constante Amores for his work on ‘Three-dimensional multiphase flows with surfactants’.
Osborne Reynolds Prize
The Osborne Reynolds PhD competition is a UK based competition?for “graduates who have been pursuing doctoral level research across the broad domain of fluid mechanics including turbulence, multi?phase, stratified and free?surface flows, convective transport processes, combustion and acoustics.”
Ricardo was selected as one of three UK finalists for 2021.
Dudley Newitt Prize
The Dudley Newitt Prize is awarded annually by the Chemical engineering department at Imperial College London. In 2020 Cristian Ricardo Constante Amores was awarded the prize for theoretical and computational excellence in his PhD thesis.
