Michael Weatherburn flies the flag for interdisciplinarity
Humanities and Social Sciences Field Leader Michael Weatherburn gave a talk on CLCC's interdisciplinary work at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki.
Earlier in June, CLCC's Dr Michael Weatherburn visited Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. In a talk entitled "Building bridges, interdisciplinarity in research, education and organisations", the Horizons Field Leader talked about interdisciplinary work of the Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication and the College's work of bridging humanities, languages and sciences.
The talk comes in tandem with Dr Weatherburn's appointment to the Royal Historical Society and Academy of Management for his work in promoting the teaching and use of history outside academic history departments.
As well as being kept busy by these academic projects, Michael is also an experienced musician and has found the time to release a song. Produced by Tiger Mendoza, Prometheus Unbound (2022 mix) has already featured in BBC Introducing, and Oxfordshire radio stations Windrush Radio and Get Radio. Michael wrote and performed the vocals, with Ian de Quadros performing electronic instruments, Dan O’Driscoll on guitar, and Gary Leicester and Helena Markou on supporting vocals.
