Advanced Creative Writing students were treated to a guest workshop with the science fiction writer.
On Thursday 26 January, 3rd and 4th Year Advanced Creative Writing students and their teacher Dr Aifric Campbell were joined in class by writer Lavie Tidvar. Drawing on the Science Ficton Formula, Lavie invited the students to develop their ideas in a group workshop and present to class. The students found the event engaging and very enjoyable.
Lavie's latest novel, Maror, published by Head of Zeus, was described by the Economist as “[A] wildly ambitious saga… A caustic alternative history of the dream and development of Israel.” Maror made the 'best of 2022 books' in the Economist, Guardian and Jewish Chronicle.
Lavie is currently Visiting Professor and Writer in Residence at Richmond, The American International University in London. He is a book columnist for the Washington Post and has published more than a dozen books, including the Best of World SF Vol 2.
