Carla has been awarded an internship to spend one year at Unilever.

Carla Aldington will spend one year with Unilever based at their Port Sunlight campus near Liverpool from September 2023. She will work within research and development of the skincare division focusing on external engagement. The role is based  on scientific communication, explaining the chemistry and presenting results from Unilever's skincare products to a range of clients e.g. doctors, influencers and academics. Carla will also spend time within the materials innovation factory to gain experience with their high-throughput/automation equipment.

Carla first had contact with Unilever through the RSC's Broadening Horizon's programme which supports early career researchers from minoritised backgrounds with their scientific career progression. Carla was featured in an article from the RSC recently describing her experience of this programme.
