Aifric Campbell delivers AI talk in South Korea
The CLCC Creative Writing teacher and author travelled to Busan for the ICAIH in June.
On 2 June, Dr Aifric Campbell addressed the 6th Annual ICAIH conference with a presentation entitled "of bodies new and strange".
Aifric was invited to present by The Henrich Boll Foundation in Hong Kong (now relocating to Seoul) and the Humanities Research Institute at Chung-Ang University, Seoul, who organised ICAIH 2023 in the Korean city of Busan.
The theme of this year's conference was The Impact of Al on Humans and Society: Human and AI - Complement or Substitute?
Aifric's speech centred on cross-disciplinary perspectives on our human machine relationships with a particular focus on attachment and seduction behaviours. It was built around her book The Love Makers, a novel and essays from STEM academics and commentators, exploring how artificial intelligence and robotics are transforming the future of love and desire.
Whilst in Busan Aifric also participated in an international panel on Designing Digital Gender.
