Tate group at New Insights into Lipidation in Cell Biology Meeting 2023

by Dr Thomas J Burden

Prof. Tate along with Tate group members attended the 2023 Protein Lipidation Meeting in Liverpool, hosted by the Biochemical Society.

This meeting offered opportunity for researchers to discuss and present the latest developments in protein lipidation known for its influence on protein-membrane partitioning, controlling many aspects of protein function, such as membrane trafficking and targeting, protein-protein interactions and enzymatic activity.

With Prof. Tate, Dr Wouter Kallemeijn and James Zhang presenting research talks on “Probing and Drugging Protein Lipidation”, “Aberrant N-myristoylation leading to a novel neurodevelopmental syndrome”, and “Identification of NMTi Sensitivity and Mechanism” respectively.

Additional Tate group researchers presented posters at the meeting, including Dr Anne Schuhmacher, Dr Josephine Walton, Dr Jana Volaric, and Dr Manuel de Jesus Tavares Cornejo focussing on protein lipidation related projects.
