CSEI launches working paper: Systems Approaches to Infrastructure

At our recent Showcase event, CSEI launched number 2 in our working paper series:

SYSTEMS APPROACHES TO INFRASTRUCTURE - A SHARED PERSPECTIVE

Our vision is to develop systems approaches to influence how cross-sector infrastructure challenges are addressed in an integrated way, using principles of systems engineering to maximise resilience, safety and sustainability in an increasingly complex world. The Centre has a particular focus on how we can continue to provide excellent and fit for purpose infrastructure in a sustainable, cost-effective, and fair way, while at the same time minimising its impacts on environments and being resilient to future shocks. To this end, our working paper advocates for an approach that sees all stakeholders working in a collaborative way. Our research is part of and contributes to the wider Imperial’s systems research which focuses on solving global societal and environmental challenges.
