Dr Laura Barter takes over from Professor Ramon Vilar as Director of the Institute of Chemical Biology.
We are pleased to announce that Dr Laura Barter has assumed the role of Director of the Institute of Chemical Biology. Dr Barter, who already holds the roles of Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Chemical Biology – Innovation for the Life Sciences, co-Director of AGRI-net and co-Director of the Agri Futures Lab, will take over as Director from 1st October 2023.
Professor Ramon Vilar announced the change to the current Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB) membership:
“I am delighted to tell you that Laura Barter has agreed to take over as the new Director of the ICB. As you know, Laura is already leading the Institute’s CDT and has previously played many key roles in the ICB (e.g. director of the ICB-ITN with Syngenta; established plant chemical biology as a thriving area at the ICB; co-Director of the Agri-Futures lab; co-Director of the MRes in Chemical Biology, etc).
I am sure that Laura will do an excellent job as ICB Director and we will continue to see the ICB community thriving and achieving great things.”
