Improvements to Clear Cache, site banners, editor stats, PWP options and use of College URLs omitting 'www'

CMS Recent improvements

  • The Content Editor automatically clears the cache when you click 'OK' so you see the updated version of the page.
  • Page banners on all CMS sites have been changed to use text for the site name, instead of an image. This makes the site name 'printable' for users who have left the browser 'Print background image' setting switched off. Previously the site name was held as a background image so did not show when users printed CMS pages.
  • Website Editor Statistics have been updated with pull-down selections for month/year. You can now see data for a whole year.
You can access Website Editor Statistics from the Webguide site under the Content Guide button or from the Site Statistics link on the righthand side of the Webguide home page. Note that access is restricted to site administrators.
  • PWP email display is now optional. The PWP owner can specify whether or not they wish their email address to be shown externally or internally by using the Display Controls. Instructions for setting email display option in a PWP
  • Use of College URLs omitting 'www' has been enabled. To comply with College branding guidelines, URLs should still include 'www' e.g. 'www.imperial.ac.uk/engineering' but if a user enters the URL without 'www' e.g. 'imperial.ac.uk/engineering' this will take them to the site.
