Celebrating Success in the 2023-2024 MPT Cohort

On March 19th, the Metal Processing Technology (MPT) course concluded with a showcase of talent and innovation to senior industry professionals.

The final pitches from all nine coursework groups impressed the audience with their knowledge, innovations, and expertise.

Senior industry professionals, including Dr Lee Shaw, Director of Technology at Arconic Forgings and Metals Europe, expressed his appreciation for the exceptional quality of the presentations.

"I'd just like to say I'm very impressed with the general level of the presentations, they were generally extremely good, pleasantly surprised," remarked Dr Shaw.

Meanwhile, Dr Dimitrios Chantzis, Collaboration and Innovation Lead at Ford Motor Company, appreciated the outstanding work of the 2023/24 MPT cohort.

In recognition of the outstanding education provided by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, Dr Shaw emphasised, "I've seen presentations from other universities, and these are among the best I've seen."

Amidst the stellar performances, three groups stood out for their exemplary achievements:

Dr Dimitrios Chantzis presents the ‘Award for Best Business Case’ to MPT Coursework Group 2
  • 'Award for Best Finite Element Simulation' - Recognizing the outstanding work of MPT Coursework Group 3, consisting of Jeremiah Ng, Mikhail A. Hafidz, Sheikh Abdul Halim, Wen Hao Ng, Ahmed Elnaggar, and Timothy Moulding.
  • 'Award for Best Optimization' - Presented to MPT Coursework Group 5, comprised of Pratham Patel, Mohit Agarwalla, Amber Birdi, Anirudh Karumanchi, Govarason Birunthaban, and Samuel Elliah.
  • 'Award for Best Business Case' - Acknowledging the achievements of MPT Coursework Group 2, comprising Pablo Capell Abril, George Worledge, Jasmine Butler, Ariel Thomas, Alessandro Vezzuto, Jonathan Lam, and Hasan Moiz.

The achievements of the 2023-2024 MPT cohort highlight the dedication, passion, and talent within the Mechanical Engineering Department. Congratulations to all MPT students for their exceptional accomplishments!
