The Faculty of Engineering’s Bring your child to work day returned this summer holiday.
This year’s participants took part in a range of activities from building their own microscope to designing and flying their own aeroplane.
The annual event is hosted by departments in the Faculty who share their workplaces with the younger generation for the day, zooming race cars and demonstrating the strength of different structures by balancing eggs. The children also enjoyed demonstrations from Mad Science, face painting, Lego building and a band performance.
Parents and carers who took part in the family event enjoyed the day:
“We had a really lovely time and it was so nice to be made to feel welcome to work as a whole person, for our little ones to find out where mummy works and to enjoy some super fun activities”
“The Mad Science show and the activities in the departments were really enjoyable and it was great to see the kids involved”
“My daughter enjoyed the day very much. A big thank you to you and your team for organising this wonderful event”
The most important review came from one of the children: "I had a lot of fun during the activities. Thank you for making all of the kids so happy and giving us so many toys. I hope to come back soon."
