Festival of learning certificate

CLLC's adult education programme has been awarded a certificate of achievement by the Learning and Work Institute.

In July, Imperial after:hours, the adult education programme at Imperial College London, received a commendation from the Learning and Work Institute as part of its annual Festival of Learning.

Founded in 1921 as the British Institute of Adult Education, the Learning and Work Institute works closely with stakeholders from the adult learning and skills and employment sectors in England to promote the benefits of lifelong learning. The Festival of Learning is the organisation’s flagship campaign, which celebrates the achievements of adult education providers and inspires more adults to learn. The Certificate of Achievement was awarded after nominations made by students studying on Imperial after:hours courses, in recognition of the programme’s commitment to adult learning.

Imperial after:hours (also known as evening classes) has been part of the CLCC offering since 2010 and includes classes in languages, creative arts, humanities, science and professional development. As well as being a bridge to the wider public, the programme offers Imperial students and staff the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of culture and society, and like all adult education, helps to promote good mental health.
