Hit the ground running this Academic Year!
Plan ahead for the new academic year and save the dates for our careers events.
We know many of you are still making the most of the summer break – you might be working, interning or even taking a well-deserved holiday but here at the Careers Service, we’re preparing for our busiest autumn term yet. Here’s what you have to look forward to:
Careers fairs
- The Shanghai Online Careers Fair will take place on Thursday 19 September from 8.30 – 13.00
- The Finance and Banking Careers Fair will take place on Thursday 3 October from 10.30 – 15.00 at the Queen’s Tower Rooms
- The Consulting Careers Fair will take place on Thursday 10 October from 17.00 – 20.00 at the Queen’s Tower Rooms
- The Life and Health Sciences Careers Event will take place on Monday 14 October from 17.00 – 20.00 at the Queen’s Tower Rooms
- The Engineering and Technology Careers Fair will take place on Thursday 17 October from 10.30 – 15.00 (location to be determined)
- The General Autumn Term Careers Fair will take place on Thursday 24 October from 17.00 – 19.30 at the Queen’s Tower Rooms
Employer/Careers Service events
Employers are always hosting insight schemes, information sessions and office visits to let students know more about their application process and what it’s like to work for them.
The Careers Service also organises talks, workshops and sessions to help you develop those crucial job-seeking skills and figure out your next steps.

Other services available
- MyCVs – upload your CV to JobsLive to get feedback from one of our Careers Consultants
- 25-minute careers discussion – book an online or in-person appointment with one of our Careers Consultants from 7 am the working day before via JobsLive to discuss any aspect of your career, including your CV and cover letter
- 40-minute careers consultation (by referral only) – book an online appointment with a careers consultant who works closely with your department and is trained to help with every aspect of career planning from 7 am up to three weeks in advance via JobsLive
- Mock interview – book an online mock interview with a Careers Consultant to help prepare for an upcoming interview by emailing the Careers Service at careers@imperial.ac.uk
