Undergraduate prizewinners announced

Five students have been awarded prizes for outstanding work on Horizons modules this academic year.

The Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication is pleased to announce that the following students have been awarded prizes for their undergraduate work over the past academic year, 2023-2024. We congratulate the prizewinners for their outstanding contribution to CLCC undergraduate programmes.

Prizes 2023-2024

The Sir Arthur Acland Prize for Excellence in Humanities (three winners):

Izzudin Mohd Azhan (Year 3, BSc Mathematics with Statistics) for his 3rd Year pieces ‘Silent Cruise’ and ‘Before I Forget: Epilogue’ for Horizons module Music Technology.

Victoria Chung (Year 3, MSCi Chemistry) for her final submission 'Tying the Invisible String Between Two Worlds: The Evolution of Standardising the Avogadro Constant' for 3rd Year Humanities Project.

Erik Romain (Year 2, MSci Physics with Theoretical Physics) for his work 'Conquering Yourself: Nietzsche’s Existential Ethics' in 2nd Year Horizons module Why Be Good? Problems in the Philosophy of Morality.

The Sir Arthur Acland Prize for Excellence in Languages:

Mahil Hoole (Year 4, MSCi Chemistry with French for Science) for his year abroad Extended French Language Project on post-colonialism.

The President’s Prize for Communication Skills:

Boglarka Pasztor (Year 2, BSc Biochemistry) with an overall score of 75% for 2nd Year Horizons module Science Communication.


About the Prizes

The President's Prize (formerly the Rector’s Prize) for Communication Skills is awarded to the highest scoring student on the Imperial Horizons module Science Communication.

The Sir Arthur Acland Prizes for Excellence are awarded to undergraduate students of any department for excellence in Languages and Humanities subject areas.
