You can start planning your career at any stage of your academic journey, even if you're currently considering further study. Here at the Careers Service, we've put together some helpful guidance and a range of tools to support you with this ongoing process.

Thinking about your future can feel overwhelming, which is why we recommend Plan:Me. Be sure to watch our short video about this practical mapping tool to learn about how to research different opportunities and the various resources that can support you during the decision-making process.

Next steps

Once you've read through the information mentioned above, it's time to write up your plan and make it real. You could:

• Check out our Self reflection and Exploring options webpages;
• Brainstorm any thoughts you already have about what you'd like to do - our What can I do with my degree? and What do Imperial graduates do? are useful starting points;
• Research your interests using LinkedIn or Prospects.

Most importantly, try to keep the momentum going. We would recommend putting aside around 15 minutes a month, to stay on track. You can use this time to revisit your Plan:Me; review what you've done, what you're going to do next and when would be best to do it.
