Switching on Energy Futures Podcast – Exploring the future of global energy

Imperial’s Energy Futures Lab launches a podcast on the global energy transition, premiering 23 Sept, with episodes every Monday on major platforms.

The new video-first podcast series dedicated to exploring the latest advancements, challenges and opportunities in the global energy transition. The podcast premiers at 9am 23 September 2024 and will release a new episode every Monday morning. Tune in via YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Podcasts. 

The podcast is hosted and produced by a passionate team of researchers, engineers and policy experts committed to multidisciplinary collaboration to drive forward the clean energy transition. Conversations cover the complex world of energy, covering topics ranging from grid infrastructure, finance, global energy markets, renewable technology advancements, and carbon capture and storage. Each episode features insights from Imperial's leading researchers, industry experts and influential voices in the energy sector.  

The show is aimed at anyone interested in energy and sustainability, from professionals and academics to students and energy enthusiasts. Notable guests include Dr. Sam Cooper, an AI specialist in materials design; Dr. Aidan Rhodes, an energy policy expert; and Nadine Moustafa, a researcher in carbon management and decarbonisation technologies. The podcast will also feature insights from industry figures like Cathy McClay, Managing Director of National Grid DSO, Guy Nicholson, Head of Zero Carbon Grid Solutions at Statkraft and Dr Pete Bryant Director of ESG and Radiation Strategy, Sizewell C (EDF). These guests bring a wealth of industrial knowledge and experience, offering listeners a deep dive into the pressing issues and innovations shaping the energy landscape.
