Are you making the most of the Careers Service?
The Careers Service is here to support you with your professional aspirations during and after your course, whether you’re considering employment or further study.
As well as the wealth of information on our website, we also offer a variety of services and resources which are available to you during your course and for three years after you graduate.
JobsLive
You may have already heard of JobsLive, our careers portal, which you are automatically registered with as an Imperial student. You can sign in using your Imperial username and password.
It is through this platform that you can search for vacancies, browse events, book appointments and upload your CV for feedback from one of our careers consultants.
Online and exclusive resources
Through our online careers library, you can access:
- Exclusive online resources, including GoinGlobal, Shortlist.Me, LinkedIn Learning and Student Circus;
- Online publications, such as the Gradcracker Toolkit and The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers.
We also release a new CVs, Cover Letters and Personal Statements guide every year which offers advice, examples and insights into creating these crucial application documents.
Appointments
If you’d like to speak to one of our careers consultants about your plans, we encourage you to book an appointment. We are currently offering:
- Career Discussions (online and in person) which allow you to discuss any aspect of your career, including CVs, cover letters, applications or further study;
- Careers Consultations (by referral), longer appointments which are for exploring your options in more depth;
- Mock Interviews for when you would like to prepare and receive feedback for an upcoming interview;
- Quick CV or Cover Letter Checks, carried out by a team of trained Imperial PhD students.
Skills training and workshops

- Careers Labs – interactive workshops to help you understand and gain experience in activities found in recruitment
- Careers Discoveries – talks by our placement and internship advisers in which they share their knowledge of different industry sectors
