You've landed the interview, what now?

There’s no denying that interviews are a stressful experience. When you’ve spent hours crafting your CV, writing cover letters and filling out online applications, it can feel like there’s a lot of pressure on the interview to go well.

In these situations, there are only three things to do:

1. Take a deep breath;
2. Remember that all you can do is try your best;
3. Make the most of the resources available to you through the Careers Service!

 Learn the basics

No matter what format your interview is in, we’ve got you covered. You can find out more information on assessment centres, presentations and case study activities, as well as more traditional interviews, on our website.

Attend a training event

You’ll also want to keep an eye out on upcoming Career Essentials and Career Labs. These seminars and workshops run both online and in person. Taking place shortly are:

Practice at home

Through the Careers Service, you have access to a wonderful resource called Shortlist.Me.

This platform allows you to record yourself answering popular interview questions, watch your answers back and get useful tips on what employers are looking for.

Shortlist.Me is especially useful if you have been invited for a video interview. 

Book a mock interview

These sessions allow you to practice your interview technique and receive feedback on your performance from a careers consultant. You can specify the areas and/or questions that you would like to focus on and can be tailored to specific industries and roles as required.

Please be aware that you are limited to one mock interview per academic year.
