Disability History Month was established in 2010, its key aims being to:

• Advocate equality for disabled people;
• Promote disability, equality and inclusion;
• Examine the roots of ‘Disablism’;
• Celebrate disabled people’s history;
• Challenge and expose the unequal position of disabled people in our society;
• Highlight examples of good disability equality.

Careers support for disabled and neurodivergent students

We offer a range of services for disabled students, including workshops on finding inclusive employers and discussing disability. You can find out more information on our Careers and disability webpage.

We’ll take this opportunity to highlight our Interview Workshop for autistic students which will be taking place on Wednesday 20 November, from 13.00 – 15.00, in person. This session is a part of our Autism Careers Programme which is organised in collaboration with the Disability Advisory Service (DAS).

If you would like to discuss your career plans, you can book a 25-minute discussion through JobsLive. These appointments are available both online and in person. Alternatively, you can contact us directly or liaise with DAS to book. If you feel you would benefit from a longer appointment, speak with us or DAS about a 40-minute referral.

The Disability Support Fair

On Thursday 28 November, from 10.00 – 16.00, Imperial’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Centre will be hosting a fair in the main entrance to talk to university staff about the various support options available.
