Imperial College Business School has joined forces with QS to launch a forum which aims to transform the use of AI in higher education.
The Responsible AI Consortium is a collaborative partnership between QS and leading business schools around the world who will commit to transforming the use of AI in higher education across four key areas: research and intellectual leadership; teaching, learning and assessment; outreach; and operational efficiencies and governance.
The partnership will feature Imperial alongside EDHEC Business School and Luiss Business School.
“By joining forces with other leading business schools, we will deepen our understanding of AI and its transformative impact on higher education." Leila Guerra Vice Dean (Education), Imperial College Business School
The Responsible AI Consortium offers universities and business schools a forum for integrating AI into strategic and operational areas. It will develop project-based learning opportunities, foster collaboration in thought leadership and research, and provide a sandbox environment for piloting new AI-driven technologies.
Leila Guerra, Vice Dean (Education) at Imperial College Business School said: “By joining forces with other leading business schools, we will deepen our understanding of AI and its transformative impact on higher education. The insights gained through this partnership will boost our research and enable us to promote a safe and responsible use of AI within teaching, operations and student learning environments and identify the best AI governance models.”
She continued: “The partnership will build on the work Imperial is already doing through I-X – Imperial’s multidisciplinary research hub that aims to address the real-world challenges surrounding AI, and through the work of the IDEA Lab."
Creating an "AI roadmap"
The project will involve the creation of an “AI roadmap” which will assess each business school’s level of competency and ability to integrate AI technologies within its operations.
Partner organisations will be awarded a certificate of excellence in AI in higher education to showcase their commitment towards students and industry partners. Students will have an opportunity to collaborate with businesses on AI-based projects which demonstrate how AI can be embedded responsibly within companies.
The consortium will provide a sandbox for piloting new technologies, showcasing startups and sharing ideas. This will help partner organisations to remain at the cutting-edge of what is happening in AI in higher education by providing early access to new advancements in technology, a space to pilot AI responsibly and the opportunity to share ideas and learn from each other.
The consortium will help increase visibility for thought leadership and research via QS portals, events and social media, in addition to collaborations between consortium members on leading research that will shape the future of AI in higher education.
