CLCC presents at Talking Teaching series

by Ms Cleo Bowen

Five CLCC colleagues spoke about Interdisciplinary Educational Collaborations at Imperial

On Thursday 28 November, five members of CLCC staff - Greg Artus, Iria González-Becerra, Mark Pope, Michael Weatherburn and Catherine Webb - delivered a seminar as part of the Education Office's Talking Teaching Series.

Opening with the origins of the I-Explore programme and its achievements since launching in 2020, Michael positioned I-Explore within Imperial’s 2025-30 Science for Humanity strategy, studied its context and provided lessons learnt for interdisciplinary educational collaborations (with both students and staff).

Greg, Iria, Mark and Catherine then showcased some of the Horizons Bespoke undergraduate and postgraduate projects on which they have taught, and the positive impact that these collaborations have on the student experience.

Katie Stripe, Senior Learning Designer then presented the LTS-funded animated inclusive personae project, including the personae created, impact on Imperial departments, the students who developed the bespoke artwork, and the persona characteristics.

The Talking Teaching series enables Imperial staff and students to share best practice approaches to teaching, and to network with colleagues from across the university. Attendance is open to anyone with an interest in education. The events generally feature two short (10-15 mins) talks with time for Q&A.

A recording of the seminar and slides from the event are available for those interested in learning more:
