FULBRIGHT AWARDS
FOR STUDY IN THE UNITED STATES

APPLICANTS MUST BE EU CITIZENS, ORDINARILY RESIDENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
Awards must be taken up no earlier than August 2008 and no later than April 2009

All awards include health insurance, free visa processing and a 2-day cultural orientation in London before departure.

Fulbright Postgraduate Awards:  approx. eight awards of up to $40,000 to support the first academic year of postgraduate study in any discipline and at any accredited US institution. (MBA and Journalism candidates please see separate awards)   Deadline: end October 2007

Fulbright British Friends of Harvard Business School MBA Awards: Two awards covering tuition fees (approx. £23,000) only are offered for the first academic year of an MBA at Harvard Business School.   Candidates must be UK citizens.  Deadline: early March 2008

Fulbright Alistair Cooke Award in Journalism:  An award of $40,000 in memory of the great trans-Atlantic commentator and broadcaster Alistair Cooke, for the first year of an MA in Journalism, or in other discipline for candidates intending to go into journalism (eg. Middle Eastern Studies) at the US university of the candidate's choice.  Deadline: end October 2007

A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree from a British university is required for all of the Postgraduate Awards listed above.  Candidates are expected to have researched and begun the application procedure for entry to a US university before applying for a Fulbright Award.

Fulbright-Robertson Visiting Professor in British History: This award enables a Senior or Junior lecturer to spend 10 months at Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri. The successful candidate will receive a grant of approximately $47,500, together with economy round trip travel for him/herself and up to four accompanying dependants. Deadline: early  December 2007

Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Awards: Two awards of £15,000 are offered to post-doctoral academics or professionals to facilitate research and/or lecturing for a minimum of 8 months. Candidates must have an invitation from a leading US institution. Deadline: early March 2008.

Fulbright-AstraZeneca Research Scholarship: One award offered in conjunction with AstraZeneca plc for a post-doctoral scientist with an invitation to conduct research at a top centre in the US on an aspect of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Bio-Informatics.  The award is for a minimum of 10 months and is worth £17,500 plus economy round-trip travel.  Deadline: early March 2008.

Fulbright Police Research Fellowships: Two awards beginning at £7,500, are available for serving UK Police Officers or Civilian Staff.  Successful candidates will spend a minimum of 3 months in the United States developing their professional expertise and gaining experience of American policing. Deadline: early March 2007.
