Don't miss your chance to apply for valuable careers experience.
The Imperial Work Shadowing Scheme is designed exclusively for first-year undergraduates, allowing them to explore a job role or sector of interest to you. Experiences last between one and three days at the host’s workplace and, this year, will run between 24 March and 25 April.
There’s no time to waste; applications close on Sunday 23 February!
What are the benefits?
By participating in the Work Shadowing Scheme, you will have the opportunity to experience a professional work environment, observe the day-to-day of a particular job role, build your network and enhance your CV.
What’s more, work shadowing is a great way to pick up useful tips to support future applications or interviews and learn more about which skills/experiences are valued in different sectors.
What’s the application process?
To apply for the Work Shadowing Scheme, you’ll need to complete the online application form. This requires you to choose up to three employer host profiles from the Work Shadowing Directory.
Work Shadowing places can be competitive so make sure you showcase your commitment to career development and detailed interest in each chosen host profile in your application.
Please remember to submit your application by 23.59 on Sunday 23 February.
What happens next?
Once applications close, they are reviewed by the Work Shadowing Team who will attempt to make as many positive matches as possible based on student preferences and host availability. If matched, you will be invited to attend a compulsory induction event to prepare you for your experience.
After the induction session, you will be connected with your Work Shadowing Host. It is then up to you to reach out to begin arranging the experience and agree on suitable dates.
If you have any questions, please see the Work Shadowing Scheme webpage or email the team at workshadowing@imperial.ac.uk.
