Dr Jan A.M. Barynin (PhD 1970)

Jan Alexander Barynin, Ph.D., PEng., 70, died on January 15th, 2008, at his home in Vancouver, B.C., after a 16 month battle with cancer.

He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 3rd, 1937 and is survived by his children Phillippa, Jens Peter and Tamara, and his step children, Annemarie and Kirsten. Jan had a successful career as a chemical engineer which brought him from England to Canada in 1970. He most recently held a position as Vice President Engineering and R & D with DynaMotive Energy Systems Corp.

Jan was a generous person who's energy and courage in the last year of his life was an inspiration to those who knew him.
