Sir Richard Sykes bids farewell to alumni
Outgoing Rector, Sir Richard Sykes, has recorded a farewell message to alumni of the College in which he thanks alumni for their support of the College over the seven years of his tenure.
As he stands down following seven years as Rector of Imperial College London, Sir Richard Sykes has recorded a farewell message for alumni of the College.

During his time as Rector, Sir Richard has met many of the 140,000 plus alumni who have studied at Imperial or one of the colleges or schools with which the College has merged, at events and meetings, both at Imperial and around the world.
His farewell message stresses the importance that he has placed upon building the relationship between the College and its alumni during his time as Rector. "I always say at our graduation ceremonies that the day does not mark the end of a student's association with Imperial, but the dawning of a new relationship and one that we hope will last a lifetime," he says.
"We are genuinely very proud of our talented graduates and are always excited to follow your progress, so I'm glad that so many of you keep in touch with us. There are few countries around the world where you can't be found, and it's a great feeling to know that we can count on your interest and support no matter where we go."
