Information about an event in London on Friday 27 February at which Professor David Gann will speak.

How should collaboration be blended into a company's innovation culture? To what extent do social networks offer a platform for product and service development?

These and other questions will be addressed at Innovation Island, a half-day forum for senior executives on February 27 2009, run by Economist Conferences.

Professor David Gann, head of the Business School's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group, will join a panel session alongside Iain Gray, Chief Executive of the Technology Strategy Board, Tom Loosemore, Head of 4IP at Channel 4 and Lynne Maher, Head of Innovation Practice at NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement.

Professor Gann, ahead of the event, said:
"Increasingly technology is driving the innovation process, enabling collaboration across distances and disciplines. New business models are needed for these methods of innovating to capture value and tap into their potential to enable firms to sustain business in the recession and develop lucrative new services in the future."

"Users can and should be engaged in the innovation process and this creates an opportunity to benefit from understanding lead users better as well as the tipping point and momentum for adoption of innovations."

Senior-executives can register for the free event here.
