Jason Yuan, Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego spent a productive week at Imperial College London in July 2008, meeting a number of BHF Centre members.

Jason Yuan, Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego spent a productive week at Imperial College London in July 2008, meeting a number of BHF Centre members. Professor Yuan, who was the guest of Professor Martin Wilkins of the Division of Investigative Science, has a research group based at the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The group is primarily interested in vascular physiology and pathophysiology and pathogenic mechanisms of pulmonary vascular disease.

Over the course of the week, Professor Yuan had research discussions with Professors Dorian Haskard, Spencer Sherwin, Peter Weinberg, Ross Ethier, Michael Schneider and Malcolm Parker and Drs Lan Zhao, John Wharton and Anne Bishop. He also took the opportunity to attend a Pulmonary Hypertension Meeting at the Hammersmith campus. The visit concluded with Professor Yuan giving a lecture on the Pathogenic Role of Ion Channels in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
