Institute of Chemical Biology

MRes lectures begin week beginning 11 October 2010.

The following is a list of events happening during the first week of term:

Monday 4 October

The first official day of the course is Monday 4 October.

There will be an Institute of Chemical Biology Welcome Talk from Dr Oscar Ces, our DTC Director, and MRes Course Induction from the MRes Course Directors starting at 10am in Chemistry. New students will be given the Departmental Welcome Pack, MRes Course Handbook and Lecture Timetable.

There will be a welcome address for all Graduate School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (GSEPS) postgraduate taught course students at 16.45pm in the Great Hall, Sherfield Building (building number 20 on the attached map) with a talk from the Rector, Graduate School staff, Graduate Students' Association and Student Union.

Tuesday 5 October

Freshers' Fair - This will begin at 11.00 am and finish at about 4pm.

Wednesday 6 October

Sports trials: These begin at 12.00 noon promptly and last for the rest of the day.

Thursday 7 October

There is a primary induction on Thursday 7 October at 12.00-13.00 in Lecture Theatre C, RCS building, and then a basic laboratory safety talk at 14.00-16.30 also in Lecture Theatre C, RCS building. It is mandatory for all new students to attend the Safety Talks before they are allowed to work in the laboratory.

Friday 8 October

Chemistry Departmental Welcome Induction - 16.00 in Tutorial Room 232B, Level 2, Chemistry

From Monday 11 October

The lectures will start from Monday 11 October.
