I am a first-year PhD student in bioengineering. Currently working on blood-brain barrier permeation for neurotherapeutic delivery using focused ultrasound and microbubbles. My specific area of research is molecular pathways.
Yiling Gao

I am a second year PhD student in the Faculty of Medicine. My research involves senolytic drugs that target senescent cells in the lungs. I am investigating the potential of these drugs in rejuvenating the lung stem cell niche, and exploring whether this could be the simplest and most effective way to treat currently non-curative chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

I am a final year PhD student in NHLI, working on drug-related cardiotoxicity and its therapeutics. Specifically, I focus on doxorubicin (a common chemotherapy component) induced cardiac diseases. My research routine includes culturing cardiomyocytes (they are really cool by the way!!) and analyses of high throughput sequencing datasets.

I’m a second year PhD with a joint project with Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Natural Science and the Faculty of Medicine, as part of the MultiSci MRC DTP. My project focuses on engineering liposomal nanomedicines for targeted drug delivery in prostate cancer. I’m passionate about drug discovery and promoting close collaboration between industry and academia.

I am a first year finance doctoral student at Imperial Business School. Finding new treatments and medicine is essentially an innovative task and requires funding for research and working in organisations. So, I am interested in evaluating the different organisational structures’ effects on the discovery of new treatments and medicine. Moreover, the market structure (monopoly, monopolistic competition, …) in which big pharmaceutical companies operate in and its effect on policy making is a topic of interest to me.
