"Public engagement describes the myriad of ways in which the activity and benefits of higher education and research can be shared with the public. Engagement is by definition a two-way process, involving interaction and listening, with the goal of generating mutual benefit"
National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE)
Your heart and lungs are amazing and so is the science used to understand how they work.
The National Heart and Lung Institute is committed to inspiring curiosity about science, connecting with society and providing opportunities for conversations, discussion and engagement between researchers and the public. We create projects, activities and events experimenting with new, creative ways of engaging with diverse audiences.
The Curious Act
The Curious Act is a programme of creative public engagement with the National Heart and Lung Institute. We produce projects with scientists and clinicians from NHLI, inspired by their fascinating research, and we work with creative collaborators including textile artists, games designers, performers, creative technologists, chefs and illustrators.
