BIO
I am passionate about infectious disease epidemiology, especially research on (zoonotic) infections involving both human and animal hosts, in addition to research on neglected tropical diseases (NTD). Currently, I work as a post-doctoral research associate in the NTD Modelling Consortium (NTD Modelling consortium). Prior to this, I worked at the non-profit SCI Foundation, developing a project focussed on Taenia solium modelling and control in Uganda (Pork Tapeworm (Taenia solium) Research Project | SCI Foundation (schistosomiasiscontrolinitiative.org). In July 2020, I completed a PhD in infectious disease modelling at Imperial College London (viva; passed without corrections) as part of the Medical Research Council (MRC) Doctoral Training Programme (DTP). My general research interests involve One Health, zoonoses and endemic tropical infection research, with experience working on pandemic influenza, zoonotic and non-zoonotic malaria and onchocerciasis (river blindness). I have broader public health experience after positions as a civil servant at Public Health England/ Health Protection Agency, working on emergency ebola research funding at The Wellcome Trust, and supporting research-to-policy initiatives at Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs).
