Imperial is participating in Jisc’s read and publish agreement with Sage.
This means that corresponding authors affiliated with Imperial may publish their research open access in the following hybrid journal collections without cost:
- Sage Premier Journals Collection of 1,101 titles
- IMechE Journal Collection of 18 titles
- Royal Society of Medicine Collection of 28 titles
In addition, corresponding authors accepted for publication in Sage’s fully open access journals are eligible for a 20% discount on the article processing charge (APC), but should continue to apply for open access funding via Symplectic in the usual way for the remainder of the fee.
To be eligible, articles must:
- Be an Original Research Paper, Review Paper, Brief Communication, Short Report Case Report. Excluded article types include articles published as part of commercially sponsored supplements, errata (which remain free to all to view), commentaries, book reviews, editorials, published abstracts, call for papers, news items or similar.
- Be accepted for publication from 1 January 2023.
- Have a corresponding author affiliated with a participating institution.
Authors in hybrid journals should not need to take any action to benefit from this offer. Sage will contact all eligible authors to inform them of the Open Access agreement with Jisc and to invite them to Sage Journals: Licensing & Payment to take up the offer as soon as their accepted article has been received into Sage’s Production department.
If you have any questions regarding this agreement or the process please contact the open access team.
