As Education Manager for the School of Public Health I work closely with all areas across the education portfolio, namely the BSc in Global Health, on-campus Masters, online Masters and PGR, and work closely with Faculty colleagues. My role manages operations and all aspects related to the student journey from admissions and pre-enrolment through to graduation. At the heart of education is the goal to ensure students have the highest quality experience possible within the School, to ensure they leave us in the best possible position to further their careers and make an impact on the world. During the last year or so, a core focus has been on how we can continually enhance our offer and capitalise on our successful digital education delivery, necessitated by the restrictions as a result COVID.
I am continually inspired by the teaching teams and staff who support teaching within the School and beyond in the Faculty of Medicine. During an incredibly tough period for us all, teaching and support staff have gone above and beyond to respond to a very different landscape and pivot very quickly to ensure students have the highest quality experience, considering the challenges. Often staff are also committed to world leading research and have been facing the challenges that have come from working from home/childcare, and the resilience and strength to find a way through has been very inspiring – it has been a huge team effort!
No baking for me but I have enjoyed a few jigsaw puzzles much to my surprise, and also managed to squeeze in getting married last year in between lockdowns, which helped make it a year to remember for a very positive reason!
