Academic posters are a great way to convey your research to an audience.  By following a few simple rules most common design blunders can be avoided.  In this course you will learn how to structure and design your poster by identifying relevant content, fonts, colours and background.  You will also learn some tips on how to present the information on your poster.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be better able to:

  • Identify the criteria/standards, audience, and the purpose before creating your poster
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of posters to engage with an audience
  • Identify the most appropriate layout, fonts, colours and relevant content to apply on your poster
  • Recognise how to present the key points of your poster
