Typical project management techniques apply constraints in the form of milestones, duration, deadlines, resource allocation, and cost. If these are rigid they can be limiting when working in research and innovation. This course examines how project management techniques can be used flexibly allowing for different outcomes and opportunities.

Course Information

This course is suitable for first- and second-year students.  The course includes pre-course activities (2-hours) on the slides and two separate worksheets needed to be completed before the live course and to engage with during the course. You will receive the credit by participating in all pre-course and the live-course activities.

• Identify key components of project management
• Analyse deliverables and stakeholders in your project
• Analyse and evaluate risks in your project and how they can be overcome
• Use agile project management techniques to plan your project with a monitoring process
