Graduations are the highlight of the Imperial year, where we can all come together to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students.

This summer we have two days of celebrations, to accommodate our increasing number of students:

Graduation Days 2025 - Monday 2 June
- Imperial College Business School: Management, Specialised Suites and Doctoral
- Imperial College Business School: MBA and Finance Suites

Graduation Days 2025 - Tuesday 3 June
- Faculty of Medicine, Centre for Higher Education Research and Scholarship, and the Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication
- Faculty of Natural Sciences
- Faculty of Engineering

There are three main ways staff can be involved in the day, and celebrate with their graduands, so please do read the below, and choose the best options for you.

1. Attending the ceremony

If you would like to attend the ceremony and join the staff procession, please ensure you have ordered your academic dress or confirmed your attendance with the Graduation Events team by 17.00 on Wednesday 7 May. Details of how to do this are circulated by each faculty, usually the Heads of Department, if you have not received this, please contact the Graduation Events team and they will set you up with an account.

If this is your first graduation ceremony at Imperial as a member of staff, please let the team know at staffgraduation@imperial.ac.uk and they will set you up with an account.

2. Attending the reception

All staff who register to attend the graduation ceremony as part of the procession will automatically get access to their Faculty Reception. The reception times can be seen in the chart above.

If you wish to attend the reception only, please fill out the Faculty Receptions - Staff reception form to confirm your attendance, and receive your e-ticket. The deadline to register for receptions is Wednesday 21 May.

3. Volunteering on the day

There are a variety of volunteer roles available for a range of different skill sets; each are vital to creating a positive experience for graduands:

  • Greeting graduands throughout our South Kensington Campus
  • Answering visitors queries at our designated information desks
  • Assisting with Faculty Receptions
  • Supporting with the livestream experience in the Student Union

Even if you are planning to attend a ceremony or Faculty Reception, please do consider volunteering at another time of day, as we need over 100 volunteers each day to help the events run smoothly. Prior to the event you will be provided with a detailed briefing pack and volunteer guide. All volunteers will be invited to a briefing session and will be fully supported by an assigned Team Leader who will act as your main point of contact for the duration of your shift.

If you have any questions about volunteering for graduation, please contact Francesca Secola at graduationvolunteers@imperial.ac.uk
