Discovery Day
Saturday 23 November 2024, 10.00 and 14.00
Join us for a free family festival all about the environment at The Invention Rooms.
Explore solar power cars, get hands on with the problem of plastics and see what rubber ducks can tell us about climate change! Make art, meet researchers and design a better White City as you discover how scientists are working on shaping a greener future.
This is a free event for families with children aged 7–11 living in Hammersmith & Fulham and the North of Kensington & Chelsea. Spaces need to be booked in advance and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the session.
Family Science Workshops
Join us for free science workshops and activities at The Invention Rooms! Come and enjoy fun hands-on workshops exploring a wide range of science topics every half term and during the school summer holidays for families with children aged 7-11. Or take part in a Discovery Day where you can ask questions to real researchers as we delve into the latest science discoveries through creative workshops, interactive demonstrations and engaging activities.
Recent workshops have covered everything from playing quantum pong, making your own solar array, and seeing if you can build a t-rex taller than you!
All sessions are completely free for families with children aged 7-11, local to the White City area.
We also run Saturday Science Club, a free series of workshops around the science of the future which will start again in January 2025.
