Hitachi-Imperial Digital Energy Demonstrator

The Hitachi-Imperial Digital Energy Demonstrator was established in 2019 as part of the Integrated Development of Low-carbon Energy Systems (IDLES) programme. This research and teaching facility is hosted by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a critical part of IDLES. It provides researchers and students with state-of-the-art examples of energy network control technologies and, within the programme grant, acts as a real-time test-bed for the programme results. It enables outcomes to be accessible to a broad range of stakeholders through realistic visualisations of the impacts a particular energy system can have.
